Has Anyone Seen What I Lost?
I am unsure where I left her.
Did I leave her between yesterday’s worries
and tomorrow’s unfinished dreams?
Maybe she slipped through the cracks of overthinking,
curling up where the shadows of silence sleep.
I have searched the dark corners of my thoughts,
lifted the rugged rugs of my mysterious memory box,
knocked on doors barred by all reason's locks,
but she only giggles in echoes.
Finally, I found her -
hiding behind my lifeless, rusted mind,
a blood moon behind unsettled clouds,
refusing to bleed upon my darkened sky,
the quiet, forgotten version of me I once knew.
